About WildCare

Specialist Conservation Advisory Rooted in Science

Connecting science, wildlife health, biodiversity, environmental management and people.

Who we are

A Ugandan specialist consultancy

WILDCARE MANAGEMENT & CONSERVATION ADVISORY is a Ugandan specialist consultancy registered on 1 April 2025. The consultancy was established to provide professional technical, scientific and management services for organizations and institutions addressing wildlife, biodiversity and environmental challenges.

WildCare is being developed as a specialist African conservation advisory enterprise, with an initial focus on Uganda and opportunities to work across the wider African region through professional partnerships and associate specialists.

Our work connects conservation science with practical management, environmental sustainability, wildlife health, animal welfare, ecosystem restoration and community participation.

We recognize that effective conservation requires more than protecting individual species. It also requires healthy ecosystems, responsible natural-resource management, capable institutions, sound scientific evidence and meaningful engagement with communities whose lives and livelihoods are connected to nature.

WildCare therefore aims to help clients understand conservation challenges, develop workable responses and strengthen their ability to manage environmental and biodiversity priorities over the long term.

Our vision

To become a leading African specialist consultancy advancing evidence-based wildlife conservation, biodiversity management, environmental sustainability, ecosystem resilience and human–wildlife coexistence.

Our mission

To provide scientifically sound, practical and sustainable wildlife, environmental and conservation solutions that strengthen biodiversity protection, wildlife health, ecosystem resilience, institutional capacity and community participation across Uganda and Africa.

Our overall goal

To strengthen the capacity of organizations, institutions, communities and governments to conserve wildlife, biodiversity and ecosystems through professional consultancy, scientific research, technical advisory services, capacity development, conservation planning and sustainable environmental management.

What guides us

Our core values

Scientific integrity

We value reliable evidence, transparent methods, careful interpretation and honest communication of scientific uncertainty.

Animal welfare

We consider animal health, welfare risks and species-specific needs in relevant conservation, captive-management, research and production settings.

Environmental responsibility

We promote biodiversity protection, ecological restoration, climate resilience and responsible natural-resource management.

Community participation

We value local knowledge, inclusive engagement and practical approaches that enable communities to participate meaningfully in conservation.

Professional accountability

We aim to deliver clearly scoped assignments with agreed responsibilities, documented methods, transparent communication and appropriate quality assurance.

One Health

Our integrated One Health perspective

Wildlife, domestic animals, people and ecosystems interact in complex ways. Changes in land use, water quality, animal movement and disease patterns can affect multiple parts of these systems.

WildCare promotes a One Health perspective where relevant to the assignment, connecting wildlife health with livestock management, human health considerations, ecosystem conditions and community livelihoods.

Our advisory work may include wildlife-health assessments, disease surveillance planning, biosecurity reviews, wildlife–livestock interface studies, animal-welfare assessments and the development of coordinated conservation and health programmes.

We recognize that different projects require different expertise. We therefore seek to involve appropriately qualified veterinary, ecological, environmental, social-science and other specialists according to the needs of each assignment.

Governance

Our relationship with EWCO

WildCare Management & Conservation Advisory is a commercially oriented professional consultancy associated with and intended to complement the broader conservation objectives of the Endangered Wildlife Conservation Organization (EWCO).

WildCare provides a platform for offering professional consultancy, technical advisory services, research support, training, institutional assessments and other conservation-related services on an agreed fee-for-service basis.

Where appropriate, WildCare may collaborate with EWCO on research, community conservation, capacity development, technical assignments and other mutually agreed initiatives.

The consultancy and non-profit activities are intended to maintain appropriate separation of contracts, financial records, invoices, governance, decision-making and conflict-of-interest procedures. Any financial contribution from WildCare to EWCO will be handled through documented and transparent arrangements.

This approach is intended to support the development of a commercially sustainable conservation enterprise while protecting the integrity of both entities.
